Computer Beep Sounds (BIOS)

When we switch on the computer, at the Booting time BIOS will check the hardware parts whether all the parts are working or not. If any problems in hardware parts a “Beep” sound will occur in the PC.

We can find the problems by the number of “Beep” sound which comes from PC.


1 Beep sound - RAM can be damage when refreshing. To correct this problem, remove the RAM and fix it again properly.

2 Beep sounds - Something wrong with Battery Circuit. To correct this, remove the RAM and fix it again.

3 Beep sounds - In this stage the Base RAM would have damage. To fix this problem remove the RAM and fix it again, even though if it doesn’t work replace a new RAM.

4 Beep sounds - Problem with System Memory. To fix this problem, correct the System Board.

5 Beep sounds - In this situation problem occur in Processor. We have to check the System Board to fix this problem.

6 Beep sounds - Problem with “Keyboard controller” and “Gate A-20”. To fix this problem should correct the Keyboard Controller Chip.

7 Beep sounds - Something damage with “Virtual Mode Exception”.
8 Beep sounds - Problem in Display Memory area. 
To fix the both (7 & 8) Beep sounds remove the VGA Card and fix it again.
9 Beep sounds - Problem with BIOS Chip. To fix this, change the BIOS Chip in the Mother Board.

10 Beep sounds - Problem with “CMOS Shutdown Registry”. To fix this problem, correct the System Board.

Nonstop Beep sounds - Damage in Video Area. To fix this problem, remove the VGA Card and fix it again.
